How to Get Your Own Westin Hotels Heavenly Bed

Last Updated on March 30, 2023

Hotel beds used to be an average mattress, with a set of darker colored sheets thrown on top.

If you were lucky, you’d also receive a down pillow (or two), and maybe a decent comforter. Sleeping on a hotel bed wasn’t always what it is today.

Then Westin Hotels developed the “Heavenly Bed”, and today even cheaper hotels offer a decent bed to sleep on.

If you’ve been fortunate enough to experience the Heavenly Bed found at Westin Hotels, you might be trying to replicate your own Heavenly bed at home. If so, you’re in luck, because you can!

You can find the mattress box spring here.

Likewise, if you’re happy with your current mattress, you can purchase the individual Heavenly components here.

The Mattress

Accordingly, it all starts with the mattress. You can use the finest linens, the warmest comforter, and the plushest pillows, but none of that matters if the mattress is no good.

The foundation of the Westin Heavenly bed is a plush pillow-top mattress, of course, made by Simmons. It features reinforced sides for edge support, as well as an impressive 12.74″ crown height.

They are available in the following sizes:

  • Twin – 38″ x 75″
  • Full – 53″ x 75″
  • Queen – 60″ x 80″
  • King – 76″ x 80″
  • Cal King – 72″ x 84″

The pillow-top surface is tufted, to ensure that the fill remains evenly distributed, and does not clump or create uneven or lumpy areas.

The box springs can be purchased as well, and are available in regular height, as well as low-profile. Standard box springs have an 8.75″ height. The low-profile height is 5.5″.

One important thing to note: The mattress (and box-spring if purchased) does not include the individual bedding components, which are, of course, sold separately; and listed below.

Whether you want to purchase the Heavenly mattress, or if you’re satisfied with your current one, let’s take a look at the individual components that make up, and complete the Westin Heavenly bed.

The bedding components

All of the individual components are available for sale, from the mattress pad, to the pillows on top, and everything in between. So, let’s break them down by category:

The sheets

The sheets are the one area where you can really customize the Heavenly bed to fit your individual taste and preference. They are available in varying thread counts, as well as color/trim.

Ultra Luxe –

Westin’s “Ultra Luxe” sheet set is, of course, their line of luxury sheets. They are made of 100% Egyptian cotton and feature a 600 thread count.

1.) The fitted sheet

The fitted sheet is solid white and will fit mattresses up to 16″ deep.

2.) Flat sheets

You have a choice of 2 flat sheets, specifically, with the Ultra Luxe line. Both are solid white in color, and machine washable. The difference, of course, is in their trim.

The first choice, also referred to as a “middle sheet” features the classic taupe hem piping:

The second choice is also a crisp solid white in color, but features double rows of white hem detail. Both sheets are identical, and only differing in the hem trim:

3.) The pillowcases

The pillowcases offered in the Ultra Luxe line match the middle sheet above. They are made of the same 600 thread count, and feature the taupe piping at the hem.

If you happen to purchase a complete sheet set, you will receive all five pieces: 1 flat sheet, 1 middle sheet, 1 fitted sheet, and 2 pillowcases (1 for Twin sets).

Luxe

The Luxe sheets are a more affordable, but still luxury line of Heavenly sheets. They are identical to the Ultra Luxe sheets, are available in the same combinations described above, and are made of 100% Egyptian cotton, but are a 300 thread count material.

  • the fitted sheet will fit mattresses up to 14″ deep

White Stripe

Finally, for the sheeting options, we have the White Stripe sheets (and sets). This set features the classic hotel white stripe design, is made of Egyptian cotton sateen, and finally, features a soft 300 thread count.

The mattress pad

The difference between a good hotel bed, and a great hotel bed, is, of course, the mattress pad.

A good mattress pad will put the bed on a whole different level. If you slept like a baby, and the bed felt like a cloud, there was probably a mattress pad under you.

The Heavenly bed mattress pad from Westin features a 400 thread count cotton sateen cover, specifically, with the classic white damask stripe pattern.

The outer fabric is water, and stain resistant, and the pad is machine washable.

Comforters

As far as comforters go, you have three options to choose from.

1.) The classic Mid-weight down comforter

The standard down comforter from Westin is a medium-weight, all-season comforter filled with white down.

Additionally, it features baffled box construction to keep the down fill in place. Corner ties are also provided to help keep the comforter firmly affixed to your duvet cover.

The outer cover is made of a crisp 230 thread count 100% cambric cotton, which in fact keeps the down from poking out.

Accessories

The pillow shams and bed skirt provide the final touches to the Heavenly bed from Westin. Both accessories coordinate with the duvet cover, and feature the same Shadow Stripe design.

Pillow shams –  As with the duvet cover, these are made of 100% polyester, and are sold individually. They feature a 3″ flange, as well as an envelope closure in the back.

Bed skirt – The Bed skirt for the Heavenly bed coordinates with the box spring, so make sure you purchase the correct one. Skirts with standard box springs have a 15.25″ drop, and likewise, skirts for the low profile version have a 12″ drop.

Additionally, these skits feature split corners, are made of 100% polyester, and are machine washable.

Final thoughts

Some of the pieces above tend to be priced fairly high, so don’t be afraid to substitute your own comforter, pillows, etc.

The essence of the Heavenly bed comes from the mattress and mattress pad combination for its plush and cozy feel, as well as the combination of the sheets and duvet cover for its pristine and elegant white appearance.

Providing your own pillows and comforter will save you a bit of money, of course, without compromising the Heavenly experience!

Also, even if you intend on purchasing pillows from Westin directly, we would still suggest buying inexpensive pillows as sham stuffers, since they will mainly be used for decorative purposes.
