Where To Buy A 50/50 Pillow

The version that you will find in hotels features a 50/50 duck down & feather blend. They are available in white duck, as well as grey.

If you checked the tags on the pillow in your hotel room, the model number should have said either SWD100PI0140 or SWD100PI0060. The model number ending in 140 is the grey duck version, whereas 060 is for the white duck pillow.

A bunch of other numbers will follow the model number – those other numbers indicate size.

For example, SWD100PI0140-WHI-020-026 indicates a 20″ x 26″ standard-size pillow (grey duck version). Other than the feather color, both pillows are identical.

Quick Downlite 50/50 Pillow Review

The Downlite 50/50 pillow is very popular among 4 or 5-star luxury hotels and resorts. And it’s an ideal pillow for back sleepers.

It offers more support than a traditional goose-down pillow, but with a similar plush outer surface. If you like a pillow that is a touch firmer than a “medium” pillow, but not quite as stiff as a “firm” pillow, then a 50/50 pillow is the perfect midpoint.

Just keep in mind, this pillow won’t be as soft out of the box as the pillow you experienced at the hotel. Feathers are stiff, so your new pillow will take some time to break in.

Give it a week or so, and maybe a wash and a tumble in your dryer, and it will definitely get there!

 

 

What’s Inside Of The 50/50 Pillow?

Downlite’s 50/50 pillow contains a hypoallergenic blend of 50% white duck down, and 50% white duck feather. 

The feather content also helps this pillow hold its shape.

A goose-down pillow tends to go flat where your head rests. It starts out super comfortable but then deflates, and it becomes a hassle to fluff and mold.

The 50% feather content provides structural integrity, so the pillow doesn’t deflate as easily.
